Lacey is a San Jose artist who paints weird things. She works in a variety of media, oil and acrylic paints being her favorites. She paints primarily on wood surfaces, often utilizing found wood for the unique textures and history they offer. Her subjects are often dreamlike, inhabiting a realm of strange, nostalgic sweetness with undercurrents of darkness and mystery. Each piece is a bit of the middle of a story for the viewer to interpret in their own way. Contrasting cute with creepy, familiar with odd, Lacey sets out to quietly captivate and unnerve her viewers through the underlying tension of her work.

Lacey has shown work all over California, as well as Tempe, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; Brooklyn, NY; Chaing-Mai, Thailand among other places. She has an ongoing display of work at KALEID Gallery in San Jose where she keeps her studio. Because she loves to paint really big things as well, she occasionally paints murals, sets and backdrops for various theatres and for Great America Theme Park's stage shows and haunted houses. Unable to sit still, she has accumulated a wide array of strange skills. She is a guerrilla knitter, a repository of useless information, a tree climber, a belly dancer, a sculptor, a snorkeler, a former voice actor, a from-scratch baker, a maker of silly clay-mation shorts, a collector of succulents and cacti, graphic designer, and many other unrelated things.
