Love Cards Project

The Love Series is my attempt at spreading a positive message though a somewhat cheesy brand of humor and simplification. Each painting in the series uses hearts to represent words and thoughts of love. The characters in the paintings are shown reacting to these feelings with exaggerated expression. The straightforwardness of the images keeps the message from being diluted, however there is still room for individual interpretation. In keeping with this simplicity of message, the colors and style of the images are likewise bold and simple. I've made trading cards of each of these original works with a message on the back of the card. I've been leaving the cards in random public places- bathrooms, bars, festivals, etc., occasionally handing them to people. The only point to this is that strangers may pick up the cards and smile or wonder. People may pick them up, keep them, share them - anything they like. It's art for art's sake and seemed like the logical conclusion to the idea.
