05/28/08 - Well, due to some internet issues I've been unable to update this site in quite some time. But now I'm back! I don't have time to update the site at the moment, but here're a few upcoming events to look for:

Lara and I will be painting Live at Voodoo lounge in San Jose at the community rebirth events every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 9pm-2am. myspace.com/community_reborn

July 4 is the opening reception for the Big Flying Artistas show, "Oh Sheet!" It will feature live performances by Deathat and Tree House City, Live painting by myself and Lara Sophia, and really big paintings! The show will remain up until August 31st.There will be a second event on Friday, August 1st, featuring more live painting and a performance by Farewell Typewriter. Both shows run from 8pm-11pm.

Heart of Chaos is hosting their annual Chalk Art event. Lara and I will be making chalk art from 10-2pm at the Gardner Community Center on Saturday, June 14th. This event is FREE and a lot of fun! Bring the kids and come draw on the side walk with us! After the chalk art event, Lara will be painting Live at Dancin' on the Avenue in Willow Glen.

Lara and I will be doing chalk art at the Relay for Life in Los Altos, CA on June 21st.

Lara and I will be showing art in the Creature Cuture show at On The Corner Music. The reception will be on Friday June 27th from 8 PM to midnight More details on this later...

Lara and I are making murals to be installed in downtown San Jose on South First Street, across from Gallery AD. These murals will be installed in late August to cover a construction site. The duration of the murals installation will be from 6 months to 2 years.

Lara and I will be painting live at the art market next to Gallery AD on August 1st from 7-9pm during the South First Fridays event. Also in the works is a mural in collaboration with several Heart of Chaos artists for Art Ark in San Jose. It willbe unveiled July 26th. More info on this event later...

Lara and I will be making a collaborative mural at Barefoot Coffee Roasters sometime in the near future! We will also be painting chairs for the cafe on June 13th.

12/04/07 - (Happy Birthday Jeff!) I will be having 2 shows of my love series in January and February 2008. The first is "Beaux & Eros 2008" an exhibition put on at the Peninsula Museum of Art in Belmont, CA. Two of my oil pastel paintings will be in this show. The show runs Jan. 23 through Feb. 24, 2008, with an opening reception on Sunday, Jan 23. Work purchased from this show may be picked up the week before Valentine's Day, so you may surprize your sweetie!

The second showing will be a solo show of my Love series hosted by Heart of Chaos, and will be up for the month of February 2008. It will be at the Gadener Community Center in San Jose, with an opening reception the first Friday in February. More details on this later!

10/29/07- Yesterday I carved the largest pumpkin ever grown in California! Today I began updating this site (long overdue, I know!) and I hope to have it finished soon. Please bear with me, as some of the links aren't ready yet!

10/09/07- I'll be doing chalk art on Oct 20th at the Buddy Walk at Cypress Pavilion at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose, CA. I'll also be performing Belly Dance with the Nour El Ain Dance Company for my first time on Oct 14 at the Bamboo Lounge at the Clarion Hotel form 4-8pm. 10/06/07-Anyone interested in entering an art show? Here's one that I'll be a part of. It's a great place to get started showing your work, and we do accept all work, so don't be nervous!

Heart of Chaos presents it's next juried art exhibit. Join us at our opening reception; which will feature live music from local bands, great art by local artists and a great night out in downtown San Jose. The opening reception takes place November 2nd during South First Fridays. Tell us who you think should win, the art will be juried by the visiting audience at the opening reception and winner will be chosen based on your votes! This is a guaranteed good time and a great opportunity to appreciate local artists Art will be displayed at South First Billiards for three weeks after the opening reception. I'll be doing live painting with Lara and other HOC artists!

10/05/07-I'll be heading up to Arcata, CA this weekend to participate in Pastels on the Plaza. I'll post pictures from that when I return. I've also recieved notice that I've been given an award of excellence for my painting "Green Dress" (below) which is at the Bold Expressions show in Sacramento, CA. Cool! Also, I'm on youtube now, here's the video from East Bay Express!

09/26/07-I'll be showing 10 of my small oil pastel drawings (one of which is a collaboration with Lara Lenta) at the Olive Hyde Gallery's"Small Works" Show in Fremont, CA. The exhibition will run October 19 - November 17, 2007. There will be an opening reception Friday, October 19, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Regular Hours - Thursday - Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm)

08/26/07- On Sept 8 I will be facepainting again, and doing a live collaborative chalk pastel painting at the 3rd chalk festival being hosted by heart of chaos. The festival will take place from 10-2pm at the Gardner Community Center, 520 West Virginia St. San Jose, CA 95125 It's FREE! Come and draw on the sidewalk, watch artists create, play games, bring the kids!

I've also booked another joint show with Lara Lenta at Barefoot Coffee, which will take place in March. I'll remind you about that as it gets closer to March!

08/24/07- I will be joining several other local artists and painting a newsstand for the East Bay Express! There will be a one night show of the finished newsstands Thursday, September 20th from 6-8pm at Swarm Gallery in Oakland. After the showing, the newsstands will be publicly placed! 08/23/07- I'll be showing 2 oil pastel paintings (below) at the Bold Expressions jurried show in Carmichael, CA! The show opens October 2 and runs until October 27. There will be a reception on October 13 from 5-9pm, and an awards reception on October 27 from 11-3pm. The show will take place at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center http://www.sacfinearts.org/

The opening reception will be Nov. 3 from 2-4pm. After party at the beach boardwalk!

08/13/07- Painting at the jazz festival with PAC was enormous fun! I was paired with 6 other female artists, and we painted 2 murals together. Here are a couple of photos from the event. Also on August 11, I will be showing some work at the Heart of Chaos "Animals and Artists" show. The show is from 11-4 at Brooks College 1120 Kifer Rd, Sunnyvale CA, 94086 more info at www.heartof chaos.net I will not be able to make it for the show, as I'll be painting for PAC that day, but it's going to be a fun festival with food, music, live painting, pets welcome, the works! Admission is free! Oh boy!
I will be face painting at Heart of Chaos' second Chalk Art Festival which will take place on August 25th At the Camden Community Center. 05/16/07- It's been awhile since I've updated (for shame!), so here's what I'm up to. Since the begining of this year I've been working ecstatically with my oil pastels, and since the summer has started, I'm in high gear now! I've made over 100 new oil pastel paintings, and I'm still going strong. I'm hoping to have a very productive summer, especially since Lara is moving back to my area since she graduated at HSU. More collaborations are on their way! We are hoping to line up some new shows of our work for the end of the year, but for now, check out the new work gallery, and the collaboration gallery.

12/2/06-and in other news...I'm going to be joining PAC! I will be painting LIVE with tons of other artists at the Avalon Nightclub on Friday the 8th. 9/7/06- Thanks to everyone who made it to our opening at barefoot! It was a lot of fun, thanks to DeatHat, The Peculiar Pretzelmen, and Corpuse Collosum putting on a great show! 8/11/06- the show in Los Gatos went well, thanks to all of you who came to see my work! I did sell one piece, "Model in Blue". My next show is coming up in September at Barefoot Coffee Roasters. It will be a joint show, featuring collaborative drawings by me and my friend Lara Lenta. For a preview of some of this work, visit Lara's Page! We will also both display some of our solo work. The show will open Saturday, September 2, and we will have a casual reception from 7-10 pm.
