Lacey Bryant has painted a wide range of subjects, but deals mostly with the human form in her oil paintings and oil pastel paintings. Many of her paintings present a scene which can be interpreted many different ways by her viewers. Fantastic or dreamlike paintings are another favorite subject for the varied responses they can produce. There is always a large metaphorical question mark embedded somewhere in the work, if the viewer cares to see it. Her style is expressionistic, semi-realism with a penchant for slight abstraction of the figure and colors. She prefers bold colors, and vibrant brush strokes, as well as large canvases for the way they can pull a person into the world of the painting. She often uses pattening in her work, as well as feminine imagry. Lacey’s oil pastel paintings have been well received for their spontaneity and free, loose style. These are often done from life, on the spot and exhibit some bold line work and exaggerated colors. She works as a graphic designer and a freelance muralist.
